Dario Schwoerer and his wife Sabine founded TOPtoTOP Global Climate Expedition with a goal to cross all seven seas and climb the highest peaks on all seven continents. Sixteen years later, the family of seven continues traveling the world on the Pachamama, a 50-foot aluminum sloop and home to the Schwoerer family. Pachamama, meaning "Mother Earth," is the perfect name for this ship as the Schwoerers' goal is to preserve Mother Earth.

TOPtoTOP is a Swiss-based, non-governmental organization that has explored the world, learning about our planet and how to protect it. The Schwoerers' goal is to inspire young people to save our planet. Traveling over 100,000 nautical miles, this family has circumnavigated the globe collecting data for universities, scientists and research organizations. The Schwoerers have made presentations on climate change to more than 100,000 children and will be adding the children of Rye to that list.

Together, Friends of Rye Nature Center and The Osborn Retirement Community will be hosting the Schwoerers for a presentation to children and senior citizens on Thursday, April 6th from 3:30-5:00 pm in the Auditorium at The Osborn. This event is free, and we welcome children in first through fifth grade to join us with a chaperone.
